WEST BOYLSTON Donald C. Derrah 83, of 192 Goodale St. died Monday, April 19, 2004, at home.
His wife of 47 years, Stephanie T. (Kobis) Derrah died in 2001. He leaves three sons, Stephen P. Derrah, Charles A. Derrah and Christopher J. Derrah all of West Boylston; a brother, Robert Derrah of Springfield; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A daughter, Donna M. Derrah and a sister, Jeanne Cameron predeceased him. He was born in Medford, son of Henry W. and Dorothy W. (Chase) Derrah and graduated from West Boylston High School and Boys Trade School. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving on the U.S.S. Shubrick, where he saw action in, Sicily, Normandy, Southern France and Okinawa.

Mr. Derrah was a supervisor for the Commonwealth Gas Co. for 38 years, retiring several years ago. He also served on the West Boylston Auxiliary Police Department. He was a member of the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post #204 and the Tin Can Sailors.

The Funeral will be held Thursday, April 22, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Wednesday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The West Boylston American Legion Post 204 will be performing a ritual at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester St. W. Boylston 01583.
